Many of my miniature paintings are created using alla prima technique — a method where the painting is completed in one sitting while the paint is still wet. It’s direct, expressive, and spontaneous. Alla prima (Italian for “at first attempt”) became widely known through artists like Frans Hals, Velázquez, and later the Impressionists. It’s a powerful technique — especially fitting for miniatures, where every stroke counts.
